This is a fully refurbished Western Digital DX4000 NAS unit that is ready for action again. Unit is upgraded to 4GB of RAM (maximum supported). Unit comes with dual power supplies for added redundancy. Unit has four original WD business class HDDs that are 100% supported by the system. Upgraded unit to 4GB of RAM from original 2GB.

Used unit for several years myself. Removed all hard drives and fully tested each drive with WD diagnostic software to verify each was 100% perfect with no defects, each drive was tested twice as well. Drive was tested, securely erased, and then tested again.

Used official WD recovery procedure to rebuild the drive partition and reinstall the OS. System was left in "from factory" state. You will get all that is pictured, pictures are of actual items you will receive. WD NAS DX4000 unit with 4x 2TB drives in from factory condition. USB flash drive with all the software and manuals for the system.

This contains all the software and manuals I used for resetting this unit myself. It also has extra software I have used in the past with DX4000 units. This unit runs Windows Storage Server 2008 R2. It is a fully licensed version of the OS, and allows for installation and running of 32-bit software like any other Windows Server 2008 system, but remember the CPU is not fast.

Can easily be attached to an existing Windows network domain, I have done this myself, and the procedure is standard. The drives are in a RAID-5 setup, and there is no way to manually change this, at least that I know of.
