This is an amazing deal on a perfect Synology DiskStation DS1618+ with all the bells and whistles. Just bring your own hard drives! The included drive caddies allow for tool-less install of 3.5" HDDs but also include screws to use if you choose to install 2.5" SDDs.

The included 2x Synology 400GB NVMe M. 2 22110 SNV3500-400G SSDs are loaded into the Synology E10M20-T1 PCIe expansion slot, meaning you get an enterprise-grade SSD cache and a 10GbE RJ-45 NIC without taking up any of the six drive bays. ESATA connection allow for adding two additional expansion units for a total of 16 drives. The NAS also includes 16GB of Synology OEM RAM instead of the factory-installed 4GB RAM.

A very nice upgrade, especially if you want to run VMs or take advantage of the multiple add-on packages for a robust all-in-one server. The DS1618+ itself, plus the OEM RAM, the OEM expansion card for 10GbE Ethernet and SSD Cache capability, and the dual OEM NVMe M. Once you install your hard drives, create a storage pool, and create a volume, you can initialize the M. 2 cache drives for the volume in a RAID 1 read/write cache.
